HorseNet Horse Rescue is
a certified 501 (c)(3) nonprofit horse
rescue and rehabilitation facility with two locations in Maryland.
We DO NOT sell horses, but facilitate the rescue, rehabilitation and
rehoming of those animals in our care. We do have some permanent residents,
but strive to adopt out as many animals as possible to loving informed
homes. We are 100% volunteer run and operate solely on donations.
We specialize in the care of seniors and blind horses, but will accept
animals, when space allows, surrendered by private owners or through
state animal control facilities in any condition from any location.
ADOPTION AREA: Maryland residents
or those that reside within 4 hours our Mt Airy Farm. No exceptions
made to this policy. To determine adoption eligiblity CLICK
HERE then click on Directions, enter your address then click on
Get Directions, this will give you the amount of time it takes to
get to the rescue.
Horse Surrenders/Returns: We
are not taking in any owner surrenders at this time. If you have a
HorseNet horse that you need to return, please contact
us.
Farm News!
Donor Thanks! Special
thanks to ECG, Inc. [www.ecg-net.com]
for their generous donation towards the care of the Garrett 8.
This years walk was a lot of fun, there were many volunteers that
where able to join us for this great afternoon. We were excited to
see a lot of familiar faces and meet some new friends. Triumph and
Pumpkin, the minis from our New Windsor farm, represented our rescued
horses for the afternoon. They really loved the attention and the
grass! Big thanks to Lori for volunteering to bring them.
After the walk around the park we had a relaxing afternoon with friends
and lunch! The kids really enjoyed the moonbounce and snowcone machine!
During the award ceremony prizes were given out to our top registered
walkers. Linda W & Trudy H raised an amazing
$1,748 and received the adult 1st place Golden Horse Shoe Award. They
won a large gift basket full of gift cards to share, totaling over
$200 to many different restaurants and spas. Alyssa, Sam &
Sadie were able to raise $565 and received the adult 2nd
place Golden Horse Shoe Award. She won a $50 gift card to SmartPak
Canine and a $20 gift card to Weis. Let's not forget HorseNet's very
special friends Ashlyn & Alanna who raised $320
and received the children's 1st place Golden Horse Shoe Award. She
won a gift packet with the theme of "sun & fun"... it included
a $25 American Express gift card, and a $15 Blockbuster gift card
and a friendship bracelet making kit. Perfect for a girls night sleepover!
Emily S raised $51.00 for the 2nd place Golden Horse
Shoe Award. She won a $25 Old Navy gift card and $15 to iTunes.
It was truly a wonderful day! Together along with everyone's
hard work we are proud to say that we raise over $3,000 to help us
care for our rescued horses.
If you were not able to join us this year for this celebration, I
hope you will plan on coming next year and walk with us to help our
horses.
Hay: HorseNet Horse Rescue cares
for over 100 horses - 11 of those horses are blind - so we are always
in need of hay to keep our herds feed. We would gladly accept good
quality hay from last year and come and pick it up, but direct donations
are also welcome and delivered hay is a plus - there just aren't enough
hours in the day to pick up hay sp everything helps. All donations
are tax-deductible. Contact: horsenetnews@yahoo.com

Pledge Campaign
SIGN
UP FOR OUR PLEDGE FOR $10 CAMPAIGN
In 2008 we started our Pledge for $10 Campaign with 40 supporters
and were able to cover the rent for just one of our properties. Unfortunately
2009 was not a good year for this campaign, as of today we have dropped
down to 25 supporters. Our goal for this year is to increase that
number quite a but, but we can not do it with out your help!! In fact
I would like to see us hit 100 Supporters!
The original plan is to have 400 people donate $10 a month to cover
our monthly rent expenses. Since real estate prices are so high, most
horse rescues are not able to buy their own property so finding a
farm to lease is a crucial part of caring for our rescued horses and
the horses that need us. Since HorseNet cares for so many horses we
rent multiple properties. Our "land lords" have been amazing
with us the past couple years with their understanding of the economic
state; however in 2010 the rescue NEEDS to be able to cover our monthly
expenses. Our horses need your help! Together we will make a difference.
Join us for this campaign! Together we will make a difference, together
we can make 2010 great!!!
